Priorities

It is easy for a candidate to say they support fiscal responsibility and public safety, but I wanted to take those words a step further. Here are my thoughts on how I would approach both for the City of Tipton. These plans will require community input and will be influenced after we complete the city’s first community-endorsed comprehensive plan.

Engaging Residents

I support making a greater effort by the City of Tipton to engage residents in the planning, design, zoning, finance, and infrastructure in the community. Additionally, the City of Tipton can also be leveraging available technologies to improve the communication of information to its residents regarding projects, meetings, and emergency communications.

Building a High Quality of Life

Through investments in our downtown, parks, public safety, streets, and infrastructure we will continue to build a high quality of life that will help to make Tipton an attractive community for families. Tipton needs to invest in the projects that will make Tipton a better community for the families and residents that already call this community home.

Fiscal Responsibility

Presently, the only fiscal plan that is prepared is an annual budget. I support creating a 5-year fiscal plan that details the large capital projects our community needs and how we can successfully accomplish those projects. I am a strong support that our government approves the appropriate level of spending on:
- Supporting public safety initiatives to keep our community safe
- Infrastructure improvements that improve the quality of life in Tipton
- Maintain high quality city services

Collaborating with local & state leaders

For Tipton to be successful, we will need both the City and County governments to work together for mutual success on projects that help to improve our communities. Additionally, over the last 7 years I have developed great relationships with state and regional leaders who are excited to help Tipton achieve success.

Investing in Economic Development

In an effort to keep taxes low, I support pursuing proper economic development opportunities to recruit high-paying jobs, retaining existing industry, and supporting our locally-owned entrepreneur businesses. Leveraging our existing business community and capitalizing on the successes in neighboring counties will lead Tipton to achieving success in job creation.
